Last year, we published our blog, “Start a Career in Security: A Stable Path with Room to Grow,” highlighting the growing opportunities within the security industry for individuals seeking stable employment, flexible schedules, and long-term career growth.
Over the past year, Source of Life Ministry International partnered with LASI Security Company, Inc. to support community outreach and recruitment efforts for a workforce development initiative funded through the New York State Department of Labor Reemployment Training Grant (RTG) awarded to LASI Security Company, Inc. in 2025.
Through this collaborative effort, approximately 500 unemployed and underemployed individuals were successfully recruited and connected to free security guard training and workforce support services. The program provided eligible participants with access to security guard training, assistance with fingerprinting and license applications, fire guard certification opportunities, interview preparation, and job placement support.
We are deeply grateful for the strong participation from community members who took part in the program and trusted the process as they worked toward employment and economic stability. We also sincerely thank the many community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, local leaders, and outreach partners who helped share information about the opportunity and connect jobseekers to available resources.
This initiative demonstrated the importance of collaboration between small businesses, workforce development partners, and community organizations in expanding access to employment opportunities for underserved populations. By working together, we were able to reach hundreds of individuals seeking pathways toward stable careers and economic self-sufficiency.
The program is now continuing into its second year, and recruitment is currently ongoing. Eligible participants can still receive free security guard training and workforce support services through the program.
