At Source of Life Ministry International (SOLFMIT), we believe that access to education, professional development, and artistic opportunities helps build stronger, more equitable communities. As part of our commitment to connecting individuals with valuable resources, we regularly highlight organizations whose work promotes learning, creativity, and community engagement.
In that spirit, SOLFMIT is pleased to spotlight the 11th Annual Nukhufest, presented by Nukhu.com and the Nukhu Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing equity in the arts. Through grants, mentorship, educational programming, and other initiatives, the Foundation prioritizes investment in artists and creators from historically underserved and underrepresented communities.
The festival will take place September 11 through 17, 2026, at Cinema Village in New York City, bringing together filmmakers, artists, educators, and audiences for a week of screenings, filmmaker Q&A sessions, panels, workshops, networking, and special events. Filmmaker submissions close August 8, 2026, and members of the SOLFMIT community can use code NUKHUFRIENDS11 for 20% off the submission fee.
Showcase Your Work at Nukhufest
Nukhufest offers emerging and established filmmakers an opportunity to present their work, gain visibility, and connect with audiences, fellow creators, and industry professionals. Nukhufest is currently accepting submissions for its 2026 festival across a wide range of categories, including short films, feature films, documentaries, web series, music videos, narrative commercials, and experimental works.
While the festival is committed to expanding opportunities for underserved and underrepresented creators, filmmakers from all languages, cultures, ethnicities, and communities are encouraged to submit. Diverse perspectives and lived experiences enrich independent storytelling and strengthen the creative landscape.
Projects are evaluated for the clarity of their creative vision, the effectiveness of their storytelling, the quality of their artistic and technical execution, and their ability to connect meaningfully with audiences. The selection process values originality, authenticity, craftsmanship, and stories that leave a lasting impression.
Projects selected as Semi-Finalists are featured on the Nukhu web and TV platforms, where audiences can watch and vote for their favorites. Audience voting helps determine the Top 10 Finalists, whose films are screened during Nukhufest at Cinema Village in New York City.

For Artists, Educators, and Community Leaders: Propose a Panel
Beyond film screenings, Nukhufest creates opportunities for artists, educators, community organizers, filmmakers, and industry professionals to exchange ideas, build relationships, and engage in conversations that shape the future of independent media.
Nukhufest also invites participants to host or moderate panel discussions on topics such as storytelling, independent filmmaking, technology, culture, audience development, representation, creator economics, and other issues influencing today’s creative landscape.
Panel proposals are due August 20, 2026.
